The Cavity Search is a volunteer consortium of scientists, cavers, and land managers dedicated to the understanding and protection of subterranean life. This dedicated group does all the dirty work for this project. They hike, climb, crawl, squeeze, squirm, wriggle, and wade through numerous dark, dirty, and dangerous places to explore, inventory, survey, map, and monitor our region's beautiful and delicate subterranean ecosystems. We
salute them for their efforts, their stamina and good sense of humor.
