Classical Studies Graduate Work
The Comparative Literature Program at the University of Arkansas offers both the M.A. and the Ph.D. with a concentration in classics. Many smaller colleges and universities are looking for candidates who can teach Latin and Greek as well as a range of courses in world literature, critical theory, and cultural studies. Our program is designed to fit this niche. As scholars, our students are encouraged to use contemporary critical methods and interdisciplinary approaches to classical culture, recognizing that the future of classics depends on its ability to communicate with other disciplines. An M.F.A in Translation is also available through the Department of English.
