FUKUSHIMA, TATSUYA

(B.A., Kanto Gakuin University, 1988; Ph.D., Oklahoma State University, 2000), joined the University of Arkansas in 2000 and is currently Assistant Professor of Japanese. He is the coordinator of the Japanese language program. His specializations include discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, computer-mediated communication, second language acquisition, and computer-assisted language learning. His research focuses on linguistic patterns of sociocultural interactions, political dialogues, and computer-mediated communication. he is currently working on several journal articles and conference papers on computer-assisted language learning as well as discourse analysis of public speeches by Japanese elected officials.
