Target
Audience
The target audience of this culture unit is ESL students in their second semester of study or beyond. Students should be able to communicate both orally and in writing while using the present, present progressive, past and future tenses. They should be able to use structures expressing belief, disagreement, comparisons, frequency, narration. They should already be familiar with vocabulary denoting housing, parts of the city (street, etc.) and family. Since this unit is computer-based, students should have some familiarity with using search engines to find information and be accustomed to doing small group work in the classroom.
