Pack Rats!

For this activity, have your students conduct a scavenger hunt surrounding the topic of pack rats! You would have them complete several steps. For example, they would need to find a definition for the word. They would need to identify a pack rat and take a picture of that person's yard or home, as appropriate. They would need to list the specific items that their pack rat has. You should have at least five items for them to obtain - actual objects or id's about the topic at hand.
