From Purchase to Recycling Center
Music can be incorporated anywhere in your web page, especially if you find a catchy tune that is appropriate for the topic at hand. For example, in this lesson of the module, we have included the song "Drop it in the slot!" by the Tower of Power. (NOTE: Copyright law only allows up to 30 seconds of music that is "copyright protected".) You can do many things with music. For example, you can have them listen to a song and then fill in blanks with missing words. You can have them illustrate the key concepts of a song. You could even have them write their own song based on the topic at hand. Here, your students could hear the song and then follow up on any of these activities.
In this activity, you will listen to a song. To begin, print this screen so that you will have the song sheet available to you. Next, listen to the song and then fill in the blanks with the missing words. Listen as often as needed to help you identify the words and the meaning of the musical passage. After you have completed this activity, write your own poem or song using the vocabulary from this module.
