Yardwaste

It's always important to include visual activities in your web unit because this allows students with different learning abilities to have an equal opportunity to shine! So, here's a good way to do just that! In this segment, you could present a picture of a pristine yard. The object of this assignment would be for students to write sentences in the past that describe what was done. For example,

Or, they could write sentences in the future. For example,

This picture would be typical of most of the U.S. A follow up activity would be to have students brainstorm, in groups, about the yard waste that would be found in New Mexico or Florida or Alaska or even in the Rain Forest regions. They would find a picture, either on-line or in a magazine, and would bring this picture to class prepared to discuss the yard waste that could potentially occur.
