Swing Dancing, although was an outlet for entertainment in America, caused controversy in Europe. Young people in Germany were taken by the swing dancing trend. However, under Hitler’s rule and during World War II, swing dancing was banned, as it was not traditional German music. Young people continued to dance, though. Some of them danced undetected for years. Others, though, were arrested, and some were even sent to Nazi work camps.
