The objectives of each segment are as follows:
Specialized vocabulary:
Students will demonstrate knowledge of the key vocabulary concepts by using
them in the different activities that follow.
People Involved in General:
Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the people involved by listening
to the statements with the roles presented and by
participating in in-class discussions in relation to the material.They will
also have access to transcripts so as to have a visual annotation of what they
listened to.

Students will demonstrate comprehension of the aural segments by responding
correctly to true or false statements.
La Boulangère/ la cliente
Students will demonstrate comprehension of the aural segments and the vocabulary
by filling in the blanks with the appropriate word or
words.
Students will demonstrate aural comprehension by correctly matching the questions
with the aural segments.
The cultural part:
Students will demonstrate their understanding of the text by ansering different
questions in the target language.
Information:
Students will have access to a list of numbers showing the importance of the
bread industry in France. They will also be able to brush up on their numbers
in French...
Citations
Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the vocabulary for bread by accurately
and appropriately using the vocabulary in a poem. They will be able to enhance
their skills by writing poems...students will also be able to go to other webpages
and check out proverbs or expressions related to French Breads.
Recipes
Students will demonstrate their comprehension of the reading recipe by correctly
responding, in writing, to the questions. They will also be able to improve
their grammar, filling in blanks with the correct verb. Activities such as role
play are also suggested.
Vocabulary
Students will have access to new vocabulary, they will also be able to see them
in their context.
Bizarre - De Drôles de pains
Students will construct knowledge of a new term presented to them by reading
a text in the target language, communicating with others to build their understanding
of the topic and by identifying and presenting related objects to the class.
Kissin' Cousins / les pâtisseries
Students will demonstrate knowledge of their new topic and vocabulary, as obtained
through the interview and their reading, by
doing the activity suggested.
Communication
Students will be given the addresses of several websites where they can find
further information about French bread, where they can chat with native speakers...and
eventually have tons of exercises on vocabulary, listening-comprhension, grammar...everything
they need to be fluent in french !!!
