Target Audience

The target audience of this culture unit is third year Spanish students. However, if directions are explained, interviews, discussions, and writings are done in English or eliminated, the unit could easily be adapted to the Level 1 or 2 classroom. Music vocabulary is universal for the most part.

Students should be able to communicate both orally and in writing while using the present, present progressive, preterite, imperfect, and future tenses. They should already be familiar with vocabulary for expressing likes, dislikes, and opinions. Since this unit is computer-based, students should have some familiarity with using search engines to find information and be accustomed to doing small group work in the classroom.
