STRATEGIES
1. La visíon
A. Brainstorm with your class about what a "town square" is and its importance to a town or city. Include various aspects of the political and social life of the community itself.
B. Brainstorm or discuss what activities occur on the "town square".
C. Brainstorm or discuss what the students think may occur on the main plaza or zócalo in a Mexican town. (You may want to explain that a "zócalo" is similar to our "town square".
2. La historia
If you have other background material you would like to add to this subject, this would be an appropriate time to do so.
3. El Vocabulario
One of the activities deals with a Wordsearch. There are various sites you can find to make and print a wordsearch. Here is one that I found, there are others. http://www.clearlight.com/~vivi/xw/wordsearch.html
4. Los Regateos
The third activity is a good one to video tape. Below is the rubric that I use to grade the activity. The video could also be graded.

5. Las Cosas Relacionados:
The size of the project will be up to the teacher. It could be full size on down.I prefer smaller and 3-D. With this particular assignment they will need to know their demonstrative adjectives. If they have not learned these, be sure to pre-teach the concept.
- este/estos/esta/estas
- ese/esos/esa/esas
- aquel/aquellos/aquella/aquellas
6. Prepare Materials
Next you would prepare any materials required for the dayís session. For example: any advance organizer questions, statements, true or false ideas or visuals that your would go over in class with the students prior to their working with the web module.
7. Prepare Environment
To ensure that all goes well the day you begin work on your module, make sure that you have your questions or written materials printed out, that you have the appropriate equipment for in-class presentation, or that you have access to the computer lab to go over the module with the students.
8. Prepare Learners
Before students work with the module, you want to prepare them for the work to come. So, you would give them an overview of the module, you would also go over the advance organizer materials you prepared earlier, and you would let them know what is expected of them within each segment of the module. This would entail following the objectives outlined earlier in this teacher component.
9. Provide Experience and Interaction
At this point youíve made your assignments and now the students should be working with the material. It is ALWAYS important to bring the information back into the classroom and interact in relation to it. This is what makes technology effective and personable.
