Page Overview and Objectives
This web page offers a good insight into the French culture through the discovery of French cheeses. Students are provided with a variety of exercises that will allow them to use the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. This page also integrates the national standards of the 5 C's: communication, culture, connections, comparisons, and communities.

The objectives of each segment are as follows:
Specialized vocabulary:
Students will demonstrate knowledge of the key vocabulary concepts by responding correctly to true or false statements.
Students will demonstrate knowledge of the key vocabulary words by using them in different activities that follow.
People involved in general:
Student will demonstrate their knowledge of the people involved by answering correctly to a multiple-choice exercise.
Students will demonstrate knowledge of the new vocabulary of the section by correctly answering, in writing, to a few questions.
Interview with an American person:
Students will demonstrate comprehension of the aural segments by answering a multiple-choice exercise.
Interview with a French person:
Students will demonstrate comprehension of the aural segments and the vocabulary by filling in the blanks with the appropriate word.
Recipes using French cheeses:
Students will demonstrate comprehension of the reading passage first, by answering correctly to true or false statements, and then by trying the recipes at home...
The different regions:
Student will demonstrate their ability to use the new vocabulary and their knowledge of geography by presenting an essay in class.
The making of Camembert
Student will demonstrate their understanding of the reading passage by identifying sentences as true or false.
The making of Roquefort
Student will demonstrate their understanding of the reading passage by answering questions in English.
Kissin' Cousins:
Student will demonstrate their understanding of the reading passage by writing an essay.
Bizarre:
Student will demonstrate knowledge of the making of cheese by giving an oral presentation on the reading passage.
