Memorias
A few private Mexican schools do produce a book of memories called un anuario (yearbook). One bizarre difference is that the students don't make the anuario - the teachers on the executive board (la mesa directiva) do! The book is the same in that it contains fotos of students, faculty, and activities. The book is different because the fotos of students are grupos de generación (group photos) for all levels except the graduating students. Only graduating students have individual fotos. Beside each foto is the student's name and a brief, often witty, statement from the teachers regarding the student's personality. The yearbook does not present a list of accomplishments for each student. The anuario also does not present group or individual photos of athletes. Any group pictures of the teams are mixed in with the action shots in the actividades section. The portada (front cover) is designed by the mesa directiva as well. The books are not hard bound.
