Los Talleres

As in the U.S., Mexican students are required to take certain courses, asignaturas o materias, toward graduation. Elective courses are called talleres and are considered the equivalent to extracurricular activities in the United States. During the three years of secundaria, students have to take two talleres. These are year long classes. The students can choose from topics such as literature, arts, dance, electricity, graphic design, etc. The student has to choose wisely because after the first class, he can´t change the topic. Talleres are also offered at the preparatoria level. At this level, students have to take three talleres, but with a wider range of choice. Again, the student can´t change his mind after his first class.

If you had to choose only three electives during your high school career, which would you choose? In Spanish, write a standard paragraph (topic sentence, three supports, a conclusion) explaining your choices.
