| The oldest member present was Pauline Carnell, who
is "closer to 99 than to 98," and has been closely associated with BCHS
since the 1950s.
During the traditional Show and Tell, she gave a humorous presentation on the background of a ceramic mystery item with a hole in the top. The item turned out to be a hatpin holder designed to resemble a phone booth. As Dec. 7 is the anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day, Mike Christenson displayed his copy of the Chicago Sun headline announcing the catastrophic attack. The 1941 price was 2 cents. The group also honored four veterans of the Second World War who were present: Harold H. Hawkins, Vaun Schell, Mary P. Marquess and John C. Grammer. After the formal business meeting, the group enjoyed reminiscences over a festive table laden with holiday goodies.
