Focus on the Tutorial

GMSS Online Tutorial
Services are provided principally through the GMSS online tutorial.  Limited personal consultation on global marketing and trade development issues is also available. For persons and businesses new to - or considering - exporting, topics covered include:

Use of the  tutorial;
Development of web-based marketing approaches and tools;
Locating other export service providers; and
Assistance with general marketing and trade development questions.

The GMSS tutorial distills a decade of global marketing and trade development work by GMSS staff. It is arranged to serve as a primer for the beginner, as a networking tool and reference, as a source of answers to specific questions which invariably arise in start-up export operations and as a source for wide ranging export references and aids.

Historical Note
GMSS's concentration of services via the tutorial has been caused by the recent decline in grant funding.  This condition has been shared by many university and governmental programs, including the export enhancement programs of the Arkansas Department of Economic Development (ADED).

However, the creativity and productivity of a legion of GMSS staffers who have moved onward and upward in their careers - along with products and tools contributed by their various collaborators over the past 10 years - have been built into the tutorial and into references and institutions now made available through the tutorial.

Future
Continuing efforts are being made to secure funding for GMSS.  When those efforts come to fruition, restoration of GMSS services–training, one-on-one consulting, other outreach services, researching and extensive networking–will occur on a limited, priority basis.  Meanwhile, the use of the GMSS tutorial for providing export services to our Arkansas business clientele serves as an experimental approach to service delivery via electronic means–itself a creative and innovative step by GMSS.
