Dr. Kim Needy Named Interim Dean of Graduate School and International Education at U of A

Kim LaScola Needy, head of the department of industrial engineering in the College of Engineering, has been named interim dean of the Graduate School and International Education, effective April 10.

Needy has served as a department head since 2008. The department of industrial engineering has the largest graduate program on campus, the Master of Science in Operations Management. Needy has also served on the Dean of the Graduate School and International Education Advisory Committee.

Graduate Student Ambassadors

The Office of Graduate Recruitment is accepting applications for the Graduate Student Ambassador Program until April 21, 2014. Graduate Student Ambassadors receive $250 (Fall 2014 and Spring 2015) for a minimum commitment of 25 hours per semester. Graduate student ambassadors will assist with Graduate School events, such as new graduate student orientation, Graduate School Preview Days. There are 8 positions available. Interviews will be scheduled after April 25, and a training session will be held before the end of the semester for the new ambassadors. First Year Graduate Student Orientation

On Wednesday August 20, 2014, The University of Arkansas Graduate School and International Education hosts a one-day orientation at the beginning of each fall and spring semester, and hosts seminars throughout the year for FIRST YEAR GRADUATE STUDENTS.
