Seismic Impact Provides Hard Data
Dr. Brady Cox, Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering, traveled to Haiti three weeks after the horrific earthquake there, with nine other members of Geo-engineering Extreme Events Reconnaissance (GEER), an organization funded by the National Science Foundation to conduct reconnaissance efforts of extreme events such as earthquakes, tsunamis and hurricanes. First-Year Graduate Student Orientation
Our goal is that each new graduate student has a successful Graduate School experience. With this in mind, we have scheduled a year of activities—beginning with our one-day First Year Graduate Student Orientation and continuing with monthly seminars designed especially for you. Studies have shown that new graduate students are more likely to succeed with more information front-loaded to the first year, and each of our seminars are planned to address a specific set of skills or knowledge that will help you throughout your program. We encourage you to attend as many of these activities as you are able, to increase your chances of success.
