  1. Minutes for the December 15, 2011, Graduate Council meeting will stand approved if no corrections are received.  (Please review the minutes on the Graduate School web page before the meeting:  http://www.uark.edu/grad).

  3. Reports from the Academic Appeals Subcommittee and the Teaching Assistant Effectiveness Advisory Committee
  4. New Business:
    1. College of Education and Health Professions, Program in Educational Statistics and Research Methods:  Proposal to create a graduate certificate (post-master’s) in Educational Psychology (Attachment A, Attachment B).
    2. Walton College of Business
      1). Proposal to modify the  requirements for the Ph.D. degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting (Attachment C).
      2). Proposal to create a new location (Panama City, Panama) for the Managerial MBA degree (Attachment D, Attachment E, Attachment F).
      3). Department of Information Systems, proposal to create a graduate certificate in Enterprise Systems (ISESGC) (Attachment G, Attachment H, Attachment I).
  5. Discussion Item:  Would the Council consider a policy of automatically awarding graduate faculty status to incoming tenure-track faculty, upon the request of the department chair/head?  This would mean that the Graduate Council would not review these applications.  Faculty appointed to non-tenure-track, adjunct and visiting positions would still have their credentials reviewed by the graduate faculty representatives and the Graduate Council.
  6. Discussion Item:  Would the Council consider a policy eliminating dual enrollment 4000 level classes, and institute, instead, a policy of 4000/5000 dual enrollment classes?
  7. Course change report from the University Course and Programs Committee (UCPC) (Attachment J)
  8. Graduate faculty recommendations for graduate assistants: faculty:   A preliminary list is attached (Attachment K).  A complete list will be distributed at the meeting.
