  1. Minutes for the August 15th, 2013, Graduate Council meeting will stand approved if no corrections are received. (Please review the minutes on the Graduate School web page before the meeting: http://www.uark.edu/grad/dean/gradcouncil/).

  5. New Business: Policy exemption: Proposal to waive TOEFL requirement for professional programs in the Walton College of Business (Attachment A).
  6. Announcement: The Ph.D. program in Environmental Dynamics will move from the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences to the Graduate School (Attachment B and Attachment C).
  7. Discussion: Currently, staff who do not also have a faculty appointment are limited to Group IV graduate faculty status. However, we have some very well-qualified doctoral and master’s level staff who could be very helpful in serving on student committees. Shall we consider allowing staff to have any level of graduate faculty status which is supported by their degree and experience, subject to the same review as faculty?
