The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. by Chair Patricia Koski
- Minutes for the April 21st, 2011, Graduate Council meeting stand approved, as no changes were suggested. (The minutes of the Graduate Council may be found at http://grad.uark.edu/dean/gradcouncil/minutes/index.php).
- Committee Reports: Before the Council meeting, Professor Koski distributed by e-mail reports from the Teaching Assistant Effectiveness Advisory Committee, prepared by Ms. Diane Cook, the Academic Appeals Committee and the Annual Graduate Student Academic Review Committee (Attachment A). No member of the Council had questions about the reports.
- There was no Old Business.
- New Business: Professor A. Dowdle, Graduate Coordinator and Vice Chair in the Department of Political Sciences, presented a proposal to create an interdisciplinary graduate certificate in Cross-Sector Alliances (Attachment B, Attachment C, Attachment D). Following discussion, the proposal was approved and will go next to the Faculty Senate in September. This proposal will also require the approval of the Board of Trustees and the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.
- The Council approved unanimously the course change report contained in Attachment E.
- The Council approved the graduate faculty recommendations listed in Attachment F.
There being no other business, the Council adjourned at 2:15 p.m.
