Downloading Adobe Acrobat Reader

The Adobe Acrobat® Reader allows anyone to view, navigate, and print documents in the Adobe® Portable Document Format (PDF). It can also configured to function as a plug-in with Netscape Navigator.

Acrobat Reader is is available for multiple platforms and can be downloaded from Adobe at the following URL:

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Note: If you are going to install this on a Windows, Windows98 or WindowsXP PC, follow these instructions in order to get Acrobat Reader to function correctly with Netscape Navigator:

  1. Download and install Acrobat for Windows
  2. Install the software.
  3. Double-click on the icon for Acrobat. This will launch this application.
  4. Exit the application.

Apparently, Netscape will not recognize Acrobat Reader as a helper application until it has been opened once.
