Mock Interview Workshop

As part of its fall professional development series, the UA campus chapter of the American Society for Public Administration will host a "Mock Interview Workshop" at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, in Old Main 423. This session will focus on interviewing tips for those planning on entering careers in public service or government; however, we encourage anyone interested to attend. This session will be lead by an area professional who will provide valuable information on what hiring managers look for when interviewing job candidates. Writing the Personal Statement for Graduate or Professional Schools

The Quality Writing Center will offer a workshop for students writing personal statements and applications essays for graduate and professional schools at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow, Oct. 20, in Kimpel Hall 310. Students are invited to an informational meeting about becoming a secondary school teacher through the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program in the College of Education and Health Professions. The meeting will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, in Giffels Auditorium in Old Main. Topics to be covered include licensure requirements for teaching in grades 7-12, admission

UA Walton College Ranked in Princeton Review's Best Business Schools

The Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas has been ranked in The Princeton's Review's "The Best 143 Business Schools," a review of the nation's top MBA programs.
The Walton College MBA program was ranked eighth in the nation in the "Most Competitive Student" category.
"We are thrilled to be included in these rankings for the first time," said Michele Halsell, director of the Walton College Graduate School of Business. "Our students are competitive and are able to carry a tough workload, which we feel prepares them to move to the next level in their careers."

University To Honor Distinguished Doctoral Fellows

The University of Arkansas and the Graduate School will honor the Distinguished Doctoral Fellow recipients from the academic years of 2003-04 and 2004-05 with a reception at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at Ella's at the Inn at Carnall Hall.
Scheduled speakers for the reception include Bob Smith, provost and vice chancellor for Academic Affairs, and Collis Geren, vice provost of Research and dean of the Graduate School.
The Distinguished Doctoral Fellowship was made possible through a gift by the Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation given to the Graduate School in April 2002. Through the 2004 fall semester, 41 fellowships, valued at $30,000 (plus tuition) per year for a maximum of four years, have been awarded to students working in a variety of disciplines.
