New Directors for Public Policy Program Announced

Collis Geren, dean of the Graduate School, is pleased to announce the new director and associate director of the interdisciplinary doctoral program in public policy. Brinck Kerr, professor of political science, will become the program director, effective May 13, 2007. Valerie Hunt, research assistant professor of public policy and an alumna of the program, will serve as associate director, effective August 13, 2007. Hunt has been serving as visiting assistant professor in the department of sociology and criminal justice in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences.

Kerr replaces Will Miller, professor of political science, who is leaving the university to serve as chair of the department of public administration at the University of Illinois, Springfield. Hunt will replace Gary Ritter, associate professor of education reform, who has served as assistant director of the program.
