UARK Password Changes Now being Sent
-- Posted by tfisher on Thursday, September 13 2007

Due to recent changes in state standards governing computing security, all UARK* account passwords now have an expiration date. PASSweb has been upgraded to accommodate these new standards. PINs will no longer be required, and have been replaced with a security question/answer.

Students, staff and faculty are now being sent an e-mail (coming from helpdesk@uark.edu) regarding the expiration date of their current password. Students, staff and faculty should change their password IMMEDIATELY after receiving this notice. Should a password expire AFTER users have been notified, the UARK account will be locked until the password is changed.

When an account is locked, students will be required to go to the Office of the Registrar.

Faculty and/or staff*** will be required to visit Computing Services' Help Desk, with a photo ID (University of Arkansas ID cards are preferred). The Help Desk is located in the Administrative Services Building, room 100A, (across from Bud Walton arena on Razorback Road).

To change passwords, users should go to http://www.uark.edu/passweb. Users should log in with their current UARK username and current password, and follow the instructions provided.

For questions, comments, or assistance, please contact Computing Services' Help Desk at 575-2901.

*The UARK account is the official University of Arkansas e-mail account. It includes e-mail, ISIS, logging in to computing lab machines and dial-up accounts. For a complete list of UARK account uses, please see

***Please note: Faculty and staff are considered students if they have taken a class within the last year.
