Student Health Insurance - Graduate Student Information (for GA's and TA's)

As a fringe benefit to the students that have assistantships, the University of Arkansas pays for 60% of your health insurance with UHC. Each semester you will be given the option to "accept" or "decline" health insurance. If you choose to "accept" health insurance, the fee for that semester will appear on you account on ISIS. The rate for Fall 2009 is $172.80 for coverage from 08/10/09 to 01/09/10. The rate for Spring/Summer is $239.20 for coverage from 01/10/10 to 08/09/10. In order to have health insurance, you must accept.  If you do nothing, you will not be covered.

If you graduate in May or you do not go to summer school, your insurance is still valid until August 9, 2010.

If an International student wishes to "decline" the graduate assistant insurance, they must show proof of other insurance to the Office of International Students and Scholars in Holcombe Hall before the deadline of September 24th for Fall semester and January 14th for Spring/Summer semesters. Other students that choose to "decline" the student health insurance, must do so on their ISIS account before the same dates listed above. Waivers after those dates will not be processed and there will be no refunds for that semester. If you wish to insure a dependent, please go the to the student insurance office, Pat Walker Health Center, Room 113.
