Overview of the Health Insurance Education Initiative

The Pat Walker Health Center and the Career Development Center partnered in Fall 2005 to begin offering a series of educational seminars on health insurance.

The "In-Sure Insurance" Seminar program is a result of the collaboration between the PWHC and CDC. Through this seminar, students learn about many aspects of the importance of health insurance and available options.

The topics include:

  • Why you should have insurance

  • Insurance while in college

  • Insurance in the "real world"

  • Learn basic definitions of insurance terms like pre-existing conditions, enrollment periods, underinsured, and more

  • Learn overview of types of insurance (short-term, fee for service, HMO and PPO)

  • and Resources to find information in the future

Click here to see the Powerpoint from the presentation.

If you would like to host a seminar for your club, class or organization please contact Mary Alice Serafini at mserafi@uark.edu
