Student Insurance Representative at the University of Arkansas is

Ms. Pam Delaney, pdelane@uark.edu, 575-4406

The Associated Student Government sponsors a Student Health Insurance policy that offers a basic medical plan as well as an option for major medical coverage. The plan is underwritten by United HealthCare Insurance Company and is administered by United HealthCare Student Resources.

If you are a registered undergraduate student taking six or more credit hours or a registered graduate student taking one or more credit hours, you are eligible to enroll in the insurance policy.

As a student at the University of Arkansas , the Pat Walker Health Center provides care for your illness and injury. Your semester health fee guarantees free office visits to physicians and counselors at the PWHC. United HealthCare covers most expenses at the PWHC with no deductible. Most services are covered at 100%.  The pharmacy benefit (only at the PWHC) is $1,000.00 per policy year (Aug. - Aug.) with a co-payment of $15.00 per prescription.

If you need to seek medical care outside of the health center, you can avoid expensive hospital costs by using the local PPO network, Health Partners Physicians, and Washington Regional Medical Center.  This is a nation wide PPO network. Visit the PPO website at www.uhcsr.com to search for providers not in Fayetteville, AR or you may also call 1-866-341-8632. See policy details for referrals to specialists.

International Students:

All International Graduate and Undergraduate Students will be enrolled in the student insurance policy each semester. If an International Student has other health insurance, he or she must make an appointment to present proof of that insurance to the Office of International Students and Scholars before the 5th day of classes. Failure to present this information could result in a student being covered by two insurance policies.
