Plan Ahead

Often, we take for granted the many services used throughout the course of a typical day. However, it is quite possible for many services to temporarily cease for several weeks to months in the event of an emergency situation.

Start planning now for what you will do if:

  • children are dismissed from school

  • daycares close

  • eldercare services are suspended (e.g. elder care, meals on wheels, etc.)

  • a family member becomes sick and needs care

  • public transportation is interrupted

  • highways are closed to traffic

  • garbage removal/waste management services are suspended

  • or other issues that may arise
