RESPECT Awards and Recognitions
On Saturday, February 23, 2008, eight peer educators of the RESPECT (Rape Education Services by Peers Encouraging Conscious Thought) team and two advisors attended the BACCHUS (Boosting Alcohol Consciousness Concerning the Health of University Students) Network Area 6 1008 spring Conference at Central Oklahoma University. Throughout the day, the peer educators attended workshops and actively engaged in conversation and exchange of information with conference attendees. The enthusiasm and contributions of the RESPECT team were recognized with the Spirit Award 2008 for Leadership Exemplifying Peer Education with Outstanding Enthusiasm and Participation. Dr. Wyandt-Hiebert was also recognized with the Outstanding Advisor Award.
These awards are the latest recognition bestowed upon RESPECT. In November, RESPECT was recognized at the national BACCHUS General Assembly Annual Meeting as the 2007 Outstanding Affiliate for Excellence in Peer Education. To read more, click here.
