Range General Objectives
I.Over-all
The Children should know limits and routines of nursery school
so that they can operate securely within them.
II.Social
A.Children should feel comfortable in nursery school setting
without parents.
B.Children should accept variations in their own emotional feelings
and begin to learn ways of dealing with these feelings.
C.Children should realize others have rights and feelings just
as they do.
D.Children should gradually gain skill in sharing equipment and
teachers.
E.Children should find joy in interacting with other children.
III.Language
A.Children should recognize their own printed name.
B.Children should gain experience in telling stories in sequence.
C.Children should begin to distinguish differences and similarities.
D.Children should become friends with a wide variety of children's
literature.
IV.Mathematics
A.Children should understand cardinal and ordinal numbers.
B.Children should be able to match sets with a 1:1 correspondence.
C.Children should understand the concepts of more than and less
than.
D.Children should be able to identify and make simple, plane
geometric figures.
V.Sciences
A.Children should have opportunities to observe matter in its
three states.
B.Children should have opportunities to examine biological media.
C.Children should have opportunities to observe the effects of
gravity and magnetism.
VI.Music
A.Children should have opportunities to gain appreciation for
variations of rhythms.
B.Children should have opportunities for experience in tone matching.
C.Children should have opportunities to hear varied types of
music.
VII.Creative Arts
A.Children should gain the ability to use scissors, crayons,
paint brush, and glue with enjoyment.
B.Children should have opportunities to discover that mixing
pigments creates different colors.
C.Children should have opportunities to find fun in creating.
