Scotland and England 2002 Summer Study Tour

Horticulture professor Dr. Curt R. Rom conducted a Horticulture 2002 Summer Study Tour to Edinburgh and London. After meeting each week during the spring semester, Dr. Rom and students Leisha Vance, Frances Yancey and Jamie Reed spent 10 days visiting educational institutions, cultural and historical sites, including the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh and Dawyck, the horticultural facilities at the Scottish Agricultural College, countryside gardens, villages and Kew Gardens, London.

The group also visited a number of cultural and historic sites in Scotland and England, including Edinburgh Castle, Stirling, the Chelsea Garden Show, the British Museum, St. Paul's Cathedral, Tower of London, Parliament and Westminster Abbey.

Dr. Rom said that the study visit provided a wealth of educational experience for his students. He said all the students vowed they wanted to return, especially to Scotland.
