Laser Spectroscopy Laboratory

dye laser

The Laser Spectroscopy Laboratory occupies 700-sq.ft.of space and is equipped with two optical tables, an Ar-ion laser, a ring dye laser, a flash-lamp-pumped dye-laser, a ti-sapphire laser, and a pulsed dye laser system. The last consists of a Spectra-Physics DCR-3G Q-switched Nd:YAG laser, second- and third-harmonic generators for the YAG laser, a prism-harmonic separator, a Lamba-Physik dye laser, and a UV accessory for the dye laser (a second-harmonic generator with compensator for the near-UV range). Thus, tunable radiation over the near-UV to near-IR range can be obtained. Shown here is the dye-laser.
