Fitness

There are many fitness options available. Besides the standard health clubs (which can be found listed in the phone book), there are several FREE (or almost free) choices that you may want to consider

University of Arkansas HPER Center

hper buildingThe HPER center is a 225,000 square foot building with racquetball, volleyball and basketball courts, an indoor track, a weight training facility, an olympic sized swimming pool, a climbing wall, and more. They HPER center also rents equipment for off campus activities (canoes, etc.)

The Jones Center

The Jones Center is a privately run facility that provides many recreational activies free to the public. Some of the facilities at the Jones Center are:

  • an Ice Rink - hocky, ice skating, curling
  • Two Swimming pools - laps, water aerobics, family leisure pool, water slide
  • a Gymnasium - volleyball, basketball, indoor track, fitness center

City Parks

Most City parks have walking/jogging trails. Some also have baseball/softball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts, and basketball courts.
