In University Physics II, we try to let the students have fun, but also to make sure that each bit of fun has a strong instructional purpose. To the left is a speaker constructed from the album jacket of an LP. The LP itself was also used as a speaker but we shot it with our Gauss Gun and destroyed it. The links to the upper left take you to two versions of the course including course readings, lab manuals, and course design guides. |
Restricted CoverageThe Restricted Coverage implementation of class was presented in the form available at UPII Restricted for four semesters. The course excludes from coverage many topics that are presented in traditional introductory text, but often not actually covered by real classes. The coverage was restricted so that all difficult concepts could be coverage to the twice-a-week lecture and receive support in lab. Full CoverageThe Full Coverage implementation of class was presented in the form available at UPII Full beginning last semester. The course includes all coverage presented in traditional introductory text. Not all covered topics can be supported in lab; the student's have to read. The Full Coverage Version has greatly improved support of the use of calculus in physics, including specific support in the laboratory. Receiving the Full CourseThe links above do not include full course information since quizzes, tests, homework, lectures, and lab solutions cannot be posted on-line since the class is still offered to students. All course materials are available to physics instructors either on a CD or at the PhysTEC web-site. To request the CD, send a request on Departmental letterhead to: Contact Us. To view the materials on-line, request a password from PhysTEC. |
