Meet Your Advisors

Dr. Joel S. Freund

Dr. Freund is a graduate of Northwestern University and director of undergraduate studies for the department of psychology at the University of Arkansas.  He joined the University of Arkansas in 1977 .  Dr. Freund received the Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award from the National Academic Advising Association in 2005 and the Fulbright College Outstanding Advisor Award in 1990.  He was elected a fellow of the American Psychological Association in 2004.

 

 

 

Jack D. Arnal, M.A.

Jack Arnal is a graduate of Baldwin Wallace College in Berea Ohio, where he received bachelor degrees in psychology and mathematics.  He received his Masters Degree in Experimental Psychology in 2005.  His research focuses on prospective memory and he has recently been admitted to candidacy for the Ph.D.  In addition to his advising duties, he teaches and is conducting research for his dissertation. Jack is a recipient of the Walter J. Richards Memorial Award, which recognizes undergraduate and graduate psychology students with excellent potential in teaching.   In addition to his academic pursuits, Jack is an avid card player and does stand up comedy. 

 

 


Majoring in Psychology

Students majoring in psychology must complete a minimum of 33 hours of psychology courses as a part of the 124 hours required for the Bachelor of Arts degree. The curriculum provides a strong introduction to both the content and the research methods of the discipline. As an integral part of the Fulbright College, the Department of Psychology strives to produce well-rounded graduates who will be capable of adapting easily to the changing demands of the future. Course descriptions and course requirements for a B.A. in psychology can be found in the University of Arkansas Catalog of Studies.

Your Future
