Active on the RT-31 faculty since 1983, Dr. Schroedel is a Research Professor at the Center. As a sociologist he has been professionally involved in 16 state, regional, and national survey research projects on the rehabilitation, employment, and postsecondary training of adults who are deaf. He has more than 50 publications and more than 70 professional research presentations. Dr. Schroedel has taught at the graduate level at the University of Arkansas, New York University, and Gallaudet University as well as lectured at numerous other colleges and universities. Since 1966, he worked at seven different research programs or centers involving education, rehabilitation, and employment of persons with deafness or other disabilities. He is formerly a Fellow in the Society for Applied Anthropology and a Rehabilitation Research Fellow (RSA). He is active in 7 professional associations in deafness, rehabilitation, sociology, postsecondary education, and allied fields. He is an active advocate and leader in local, state, and national consumer organizations. |
