Dr. Steven Boone

Steven E. Boone

Employed by RT-31 since 1985, Dr. Boone is a Research Professor and Director of Research at the Center. He has 15 years of experience in conducting projects on behavior management, independent living, job-seeking skills training, and social problem-solving skills for deaf and hard-of-hearing persons. He has conducted national surveys with consumer groups and service providers who work with people who are deaf and hard of hearing. Dr. Boone has conducted over 100 presentations to professional and consumer audiences. He has an extensive record of publication, including the development five video-based skills assessment and teaching curricula. He regularly consults with community-based rehabilitation agencies regarding the applications of technology and implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. He recently received a national Special Friend of Persons with Hearing Loss award from SHHH in recognition of these activities.
