Our mission is to "strive to enrich and inspire the human mind and spirit through the pursuit of excellence in creative activity, research, teaching, and performance."

We are a multi-disciplinary department dedicated to the professional training of students in performance, music education, composition, music theory, ethnomusicology, and music history, all within the liberal arts context of the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences.

Students in the Music Department perform a variety of solo, chamber, and large ensemble music, guided by a gifted and dedicated faculty, who are themselves distinguished performers, teachers, and scholars.
