A native of Lethbridge, Alberta,
Canada, Graeme Langager is currently Director of Choral Activities at
the University of Arkansas. Mr. Langager joined the faculty of
the Music
Department in 2003 after completing Doctoral coursework at the
University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, where he
studied with Earl Rivers and Stephen Coker.
Mr.
Langager moved to the United States from Canada to do graduate work
at California State University, Long Beach with
Lynn
Bielefelt. After receiving his Masters of Music in Choral
Conducting, Mr. Langager was appointed Director of Choral Activities at
Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, CA, where his ensembles were
regularly invited to perform at festivals and conventions nationally
and internationally. While in California, Mr. Langager served on
the board of the California ACDA and was sought after as an adjudicator
and clinician.
Mr.
Langager has taught in Canada, California,
North Carolina, Ohio, and Arkansas in High School, Community College,
and
University settings. He also has been
Director of Music in Lutheran, Baptist, Presbyterian, and Methodist
churches. Mr. Langager is
known as a creative, inspiring and passionate educator who strives for
excellence from himself and his students. His
commissions, compositions and arrangements
have been performed and
recorded by some of the finest ensembles in North America. |
