and Directions Here's your travel guide to Fayetteville, the University of Arkansas and the upcoming championship events. Travel Tips In making your travel plans to the University of Arkansas, please make note that all commercial air travel in this area operates out of Northwest Arkansas Regional. XNA is 30 miles from campus. In the past, flights operated out of Drake Field in Fayetteville, 2 miles from campus. Five airlines serve XNA with numerous flights: American, Continental, Delta, Northwest, and USAir. All most offer regional jet service into XNA, but even within the same airline there may be a change on certain flights or days to a turboprop commuter aircraft. This may impact your luggage, particularly overweight or oversize athletic equipment. If you choose to not fly into Fayetteville/XNA, please consult a map. While Little Rock may seem a logical choice, Adams Field is three hours southeast of Fayetteville. The closest alternative airports are Tulsa International (one hour west) and Fort Smith, Ark., (one hour south). We strongly recommend car rentals. Visitor Directions From the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) Follow the service road away from the airport to the stop sign. Turn left at the sign onto Arkansas Route 264.
