Global Agriculture

In 1951, the University of Arkansas became the first land-grant institution in the nation to assemble an agricultural foreign mission. The university assisted Panama in establishing agricultural teaching, research and extension programs. In 1997, Paul Noland, a professor of animal science, received the top award that Panama bestows upon non-Panamanians for his contributions to the development of that nation's agricultural sector.
