What if the references I have don't show call numbers?
Printouts from InfoLinks will show
call
numbers for the materials that we have in our libraries.
If you have a reference or citation without a call number, determine
whether the citation is for a book or an article in a journal or
magazine. Then:
- Check the item in the InfoLinks catalog.
- If it is a book, and we have it, a call number will show at the bottom
of the screen. Use this call number to guide you to the location of the
item on the shelves.
- If you have citations for journals or magazines, check in InfoLinks
under Journal Title by the title of the
journal or magazine (i.e., Time, JAMA,
Journal of Social Psychology, New York Times) rather than the title of the
article. Look for the issue that you need under the call number and date
of the journal or magazine. Some articles may be available through an
aggregate database. Some will be available as electronic text.
- If you are still having trouble, ask at the Reference Desk.
