
Sturgis Fellows of the Fulbright College Honors Program, while winning prestigious scholarships during their tenure in Fayetteville, typically pursue distinguished careers at the best institutions in the country. The following list includes Sturgis Fellows who have graduated from the Fulbright College Honors Program since 1990. It provides an accurate indication of the various distinctions that await the future Sturgis Fellow of Fulbright College. Brandon Bolinger (1999), Jason Reed (1999), Nam Le (1996), and Todd Williams (1994) won the nationally competitive Barry Goldwater Scholarship based on their accomplishments in the sciences. Nam Le has been admitted to the Ph.D./M.D. program at Washington University (20 students from across the country are accepted annually). Todd Williams is currently completing a second M.S. at the University of Chicago, and Brandon Bolinger is finishing requirements for a second major in Classical Studies.
Warwick Sabin (1998), Associated Student Government President at the University of Arkansas, was awarded the Truman Fellowship, and later won the Marshall Scholarship, which allowed him to pursue his graduate studies at Oxford University.
Kelly Gruesbeck (1997) received a SILO Undergraduate Research Grant, resulting in an ambitious thesis project on militia groups. She spent her junior year abroad at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University. The University of Virginia has awarded Ms. Gruesbeck a scholarship to attend law school in Charlottesville.
David Tabb (1996) received a National Science Foundation Grant based on his research in computational biology. He was awarded a full fellowship to do graduate work in computational biology at the University of Washington.
Louritha Green (1994) was awarded a Kansai Gaidai Scholarship and spent the Fall of 1992 in Japan. She won the Truman Fellowship in the spring of 1993, and also won the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship. She spent five weeks during the summer of her junior year at Princeton University. She has recenty graduated with an M.A. from Harvard University.
Chuck King (1990) received the Marshall Fellowship and attended graduate school at Oxford University. He completed his doctorate there in the spring of 1995. He recently accepted an endowed professorship at Georgetown University as the Ion Ratiu Chair of Romanian Studies in the university's School of Foreign Service. He is a frequent commentator on the BBC and CNN. |
