I retain the episode numbering from the Viz American series; thus, "5.13" is episode 13 of part 5. Since every issue to date has had two episodes, you would find that one in issue no. 7 of part 5.
I have the first 7 Maison Ikkoku (MI, for short) graphic novels, which collect parts 1 through 5 of the comic book. Parts 1 through 3 each have their own graphic novel; parts 4 and 5 were split among graphic novels 4 through 7, and, in the graphic novels, the episodes were renumbered accordingly. I give the graphic novel episode number in parenthesis, where necessary, with the graphic novel volume number in Roman numerals; thus, episode 5.13 is also VII.5--the 5th episode of the 7th graphic novel.
The sixth Viz graphic novel has an extra episode ("Yusaku's island") not published in the regular series. Though clearly a summer story, it does not fit neatly anywhere in the regular continuity, so I have ignored it here.
