Law Prerequisite: Departmental Approval Workforce Development Education Programs The purpose of HRDV 3403, Undergraduate Human Resource Development (HRD) Employment Law, is to equip students with knowledge that should enable them to be competent in handling employment law issues in their respective organizations. This web-based course covers the law facts, key concepts, employer responsibilities, employee rights, and employee relations. This is a required HRD Technical course for HRD students in Catalog year 2004 and later. HRD students in previous catalog years may count this towards their 12-hour Practicum requirement. Based on the knowledge acquired in the course, students will be required to identify and interview a practitioner in the field who is in charge of implementing the organization's company laws. Evaluation/Assignments The grade for each student will be based upon individual completion of homework, quizzes, discussion board responses, research reports, a field interview report, and a final research paper. A total of 100 points can be earned as follows: Homework, quizzes, discussion board, research reports, field report and class participation combine for up to 70 points.
