Thompson, Ph.D. E-mail: thomp@uark.edu HRDV 3113: SKILLS AND STRATEGIES IN HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT and this Practicum cannot be taken in the same semester. This will be a 100% web class—all class assignment will be completed and submitted on the computer. Many more details will be provided within the web class Assignment 1 : Develop and plan a training session/workshop. (100 points) Your boss has conducted a needs assessment and determined there is a need for a workshop on ……. He tells you that you have been selected to plan and conduct the workshop. This will be a very detailed training plan, which will be many, many, many pages long J You will use the textbook from HRDV 3113 as a guideline for developing your plan ** Sample topics for workshops/training sessions New Employee Orientation; Diversity; Safety; Employee Evaluation-Managers Instruction; Sexual Harassment Awareness or “ ____________”: A new skill workshop”. Fill in blank with skill/technical area that fits your job. Assignment 2: Observation and Evaluation of Instruction (123 Points) You are to locate 3 different sites where instruction/teaching is going on—sites where you can observe. These can be a college class, a workshop or training session where you work, a late night infomercial or a church class (you get the idea) ***You will evaluate these sessions using a form included within the web class— Assignment #3 : Interview a trainer. (80 points) Locate and Interview an Industrial Trainer in your place of employment—Sample questions will be on the web site.
