AR 839 is an awned, white chaffed line with excellent winter hardiness and good straw strength. It has a high yield potential and excellent test weight. It is a sib-line to Pat and is similar in performance and appearance except that it averages 34 inches tall and is approximately 3 days earlier in maturity. It is resistant to soilborne wheat mosaic, wheat spindle streak mosaic and stripe rust; moderately resistant to leaf rust; moderately susceptible to septoria leaf blotch. Results from the USDA Soft Wheat Quality Lab indicate that AR839 has excellent milling characteristics and excellent baking characteristics. AR 839 has been licensed to Cullum Seed, LLC of Fisher, AR and Lawhon Farm Services, Inc. of McCrory, AR. |
