Admission


Any person who wishes to earn graduate-level credit, whether as a degree-seeking student or as a non-degree student, must make formal application to, and be officially admitted by the University of Arkansas Graduate School. 

Any applicant may enter the Operations Management program regardless of undergraduate major, and an advanced mathematics background is not required.

A student applying for admission to the program must submit an official transcript from each college or university previously attended   (transcripts issued to students are not considered official).  Admission to the Graduate School cannot be finalized until official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended and an Application for Admission are received by the Graduate School. Students should apply for admission at least six weeks prior to their first enrollment.

The University of Arkansas accepts registrations irrespective of race, creed, sex, color, physical handicap, or ethnic origin. This includes, but is not limited to, admissions, employment, and educational services.

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 either on the last 60 credit hours of attempted coursework or on all coursework leading to the receipt of the baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution; OR

If GPA is less than 3.0 but is at least 2.5 on both the last 60 credit hours of attempted coursework and all coursework, applicant may be eligible for admission by special consideration, which includes submitting Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores of 1000 or above on the combined verbal and quantitative portions, and a score of 3 or better on the analytical writing portion. GMAT scores of 520 or better, as well as Miller Analogies Test (MAT) scores of 400 or better also qualify the applicant for special consideration. Students with fewer than 60 graded semester hours of course work toward their baccalaureate degrees will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

Applicants who have a conferred graduate degree (excluding professional degrees) from a regionally accredited institution of higher education are admissible without evaluation of their undergraduate GPA. Nevertheless, such applicants should submit transcripts from each school attended. For admission consideration, international students must submit a 550 paper-based score or 213 computer-based score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). At military locations, some restrictions may apply to the admission of civilian students to on-site classes. The application for admission and supporting documents should be received by the Graduate School at least six weeks prior to the term in which the student wishes to begin coursework. No fee is required for application to the operations management graduate program.

 

Readmission Requirements


Students who delay or defer their studies for a full major semester (Terms I & II - Fall, Terms III & IV - Spring) must be readmitted to the program.   To be readmitted, a student must submit a new application for admission and have a grade point of 2.85 or greater on all graduate credits attempted.
