Prerequisites
Because we accept students from all undergraduate majors, it is important that all entering students have a solid foundation in a common core of relevant subjects. We therefore ask students to satisfy four undergraduate course prerequisites before they have completed more than 12 hours of graduate level course work toward their Operations Management degree. These prerequisites are: Accounting, Information Systems, Law, and Statistics. Prerequisites may be met in the following ways:
- Completion of the University of Arkansas course. These courses are offered online at each site each term.
- Previous equivalent undergraduate coursework done at another accredited institution.
- Completion of an equivalent pre-approved course at another accredited institution.
- Successful completion of the University of Arkansas proficiency examination for a specific course. There is no charge for a proficiency exam, but each may be taken only one time (for OMGT 4853, Element K training in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications substitutes for a proficiency exam. Site coordinators can provide more information on this option).
In all cases (except the Element K option for satisfying the OMGT 4853 prerequisite) a grade of "C" or better must be attained in order for the prerequisite to be satisfied.
